On Sunday, Sophie had her first ever ballet recital. It has been a day we have all looked forward to since Sophie's first day of ballet. It seems that this is the kind of thing Sophie was made to do. Dressed in a puff of pink, orange and yellow, Sophie twinkle toed her way out onto the dance floor without an ounce of trepidation. All of the little dancers were beautiful as flower petals for the performance. We were all very proud of our little ballerina as she wowed us with her plies and spins and twirls. After it was all over, I said to Sophie, "I was so proud of you! You did a wonderful job!" Sophie replied graciously, "Thank you Mommy! I was so happy dancing today!" It dawned on me at that moment that she really does love performing and being in the spotlight. Our little twinkle toes is a star waiting to be born.

Oh, Sophie, you are such a beautiful ballerina!!! I am so proud of you and wish I could have been there to see you dance. I know you have worked so hard to get to where you are now, and I know you will continue to work hard since you love it so much. All of the ballerinas looked so pretty together in their costumes. It must have been a glorious day for you all!

Sophie, how special and you look so beautiful and you are certainly a talented young dancer. I wish I could have been there, how awesome and how awesome of Sophie to express her desire as being so happy to dance.
