The Elf on the Shelf

The "Elf on the Shelf "was adopted into our home Christmas 2007. Emma-Caroline named him Deedle and loved looking for him each morning to see where he had situated himself next. For those of you who do not know the story, "The Elf on the Shelf" is about all the elves from the North Pole who act as "scouts" to let Santa know who has been naughty or nice each day during December until Christmas Eve. Each night he magically flies back to Santa to give his report. Children can not touch him or he will lose his magic. It's a fun tradition to start with your children. Emma-Caroline has been just as excited this Christmas to see where Deedle is each morning when he has "returned" from the North Pole. This picture was taken in a video still that my stepfather Richard made last Christmas. He loved her expression in this picture and her enthusiasm for Deedle. He would have loved seeing her enthusiasm for the elf this year too. May the magic of Christmas fill your hearts as you delight in the wonder of Jesus' birth.

This picture is so sweet. I love her expression and thrill of the magical season, Richard did a great job of capturing the moment. I am so glad you have put so much effort in your children and have the girls experiencing everything in the season and that you instill in them the reason for the season too. God Bless you all.
