Last night we had a birthday celebration for Jesus. The children of our neighborhood gathered at our house dressed in their PJ's and ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Our dear friend and neighbor, Laura read several stories including "J is for Jesus" and sang songs with the children. We all celebrated with special treats and even a cookie cake that said "Happy Birthday Jesus." A surprise guest also arrived to the delight of the children and gave a special gift of a candy cane and a jingle bell. It was truly a magical and blessed evening and will always be one of my favorite traditions.
