Camp Mimi-GDaddy
The girls flew out on Southwest Airlines yesterday on their way to Orlando for their second annual stay at Camp Mimi-GDaddy, which is the name we have dubbed for their visit to see their grandparents in Florida. My parents retired to Viera, Florida four years ago and also have an oceanfront beach condo on Cocoa Beach. The girls love spending time with their Mimi and GDaddy and vice versa. It's a wonderful annual tradition that we hope their younger cousins will get to enjoy one day too when they are older.

VBS 2018
This year's VBS marks my 11th year of leading a Vacation Bible School at a church. As a child, I always attended VBS at my grandmother's church, Berclair Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. As I got older, my friends and I would plan out our summer and the weeks we would go to various VBS around Memphis. It was always fun and I LOVED going every single year. This year's VBS was filled with fun and lots of energy as we learned about God's love for each of us.

Graduation Day
Our little Sophie graduated from 5th Grade today. It's hard to believe that we will know have two middle school aged children next school year. We are so very proud of Sophie and how hard she has worked. Brownsville Elementary has been a wonderful school for Sophie and she has had three excellent teachers with Mrs. Henry in 3rd grade, Mrs. Fidner in 4th grade and Mrs. James in 5th. Now she is off to Henley Middle School just across the parking lot!

My Parisian Girls!
Although our time in Paris was brief, the girls took on the spirit of the city right away. Sophie loved seeing all of the gardens, the Eiffle Tower and other sites. Emma-Caroline loved the Parisian food and pastries. Both would love to travel back to Paris soon as would their parents!

The Arc De Triumphe
Our time in Paris was shorter than the time we spent in London, so we needed to pack in several of the big highlights in just a few days. After our day touring Notre Dame and the Louvre, we headed out to the Champs Elesses to walk up the iconic street, delight in French macaroons and view the Arc de Triumphe. We also got to see the Eiffle Tower again at night which was beautiful!

Notre Dame Cathedral
On our first full day in Paris we met a tour guide early in the morning at the Cathedral of Notre Dame. The beauty and feeling of awe that is inspired by Notre Dame is one that I can not describe. I had visited once before when I was 15 and was so awe struck then. The same feeling overwhelmed my senses as an adult with two daughters. I have been to many cathedrals around the world, but Notre Dame, to me is my favorite. I could have spent hours upon hours inside the cathedral, but the time we did get to spend was wonderful!
