Disney World 2019 Day1

Our family has traveled to Disney World many times and one time to Disneyland, but it has been five years since we went to Disney World last. We still lived in Knoxville on our last trip. Emma-Caroline was 9 and Sophie was 7 on our last trip to Disney World, so our trip this year is one that they will solidly remember as they are now older. We arrived in Orlando Tuesday night before Halloween. On Wednesday we spent the day at the Animal Kingdom and later had dinner with my Dad and Pam and my sister Kelly to celebrate Dad's 71st birthday. It was a wonderful first day.

A Howloweiner and a Punkin'

Hi everybody! It’s me Charlie again! My hooman mommy says it’s October now and that’s the month of Howloween. I really think I’m gonna like Howloween because I’m a real good howler. My mommy also says I gots to dress up, so I’m gonna be a Howloweiner. I think that’s the same thing as a hot dog. How do you like my costume? Macy’s a punkin. She says she’d rather be eating hot dogs and punkin pie. Anything I can eat sounds good to me! OK, gotta go practice my howling now! 

Getting Ready For Fall

Fall is my favorite season with it's beautiful colors and cooler temps. It has been so hot here that fall temps are a welcome change. Each year we go to the pumpkin patch we have gone to Chiles not far from our home, but this year we made a trip out to Middle River Farms to get our pumpkins. They give you a wagon and as many as you can fir in the wagon for $35 is your haul. It began raining while we were out in the patch but we still managed a very nice haul of pumpkins and gourds. I think this will be our new tradition for going to the pumpkin patch. You can't beat the price!

Introducing Charleston Windsor Avery!

In the last days of August, I drove to New York City by myself to adopt a three month old Cocker Spaniel puppy from a rescue group named Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue. We have always adopted our dogs and I had been in contact with Delores who runs the rescue group for months. She asked me if I would be interested in a puppy and of course I said yes.  It was love at first sight when I saw our new little guy. He is the sweetest puppy born on Howie's birthday and Prince Archie too on May 6. 2019. We named him Charleston Windsor Avery and call him Charlie. We are over the moon to have our newest family member home in Crozet.

Back to School 2019-2020

The girls started the new school year on August 21, 2019. Emma-Caroline began high school at Western Albemarle High School as a 9th grader and Sophie entered her second year of middle school at Henley Middle School as a 7th grader. They both had a wonderful first day and are settling in nicely to the new school year. I'm looking forward to hearing about their new adventures as the year progresses.

Sophie's 12th Birthday

Each year I say it, I can not believe our sweet Sophie Rose is another year older! Sophie had a wonderful birthday celebrating early with family in Memphis, celebrating on her actual birthday with her friend Alyssa and family and celebrating with friends at a tropical flamingo themed pool party. Sophie is growing into such  beautiful young lady who has the biggest heart for her family and friends and who is a creative kind soul. Happy 12th birthday sweet Sophie Rose! We love you!

Snow in 2019

Since moving to Virginia almost four years ago, we have experienced inches and feet of snow each year. I do love a good snowy day and the girls love getting out in it to play for a day sledding and building snowmen with their friends.

Welcoming in the New Year 2019!

 For New Year's Eve, our neighbors the Harrisons invited us over to ring in the new year 2019. We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 with our friends and look forward to many more good times with friends and family.
