4th Annual Trip to Chiles Peach Orchard
Peach Picking may not seem as if it should be posted about on a yearly basis, however, this annual family trip is the anniversary of our very first outing as a family in Virginia. Chiles Peach Orchard is about a mile or so from our house and has been a regular outing for our family since the beginning. I have documented our trips to chiles for not only peaches but also strawberries, pumpkins and wildflowers. For me, this annual trip is very life giving as it marks a tradition for our family begun in Virginia. When you move, not having your regular family traditions of going to a familiar locale is difficult. Chilles has always been a source of comfort for me because it was our very first new family tradition. So here's to the fourth trip to Chiles as a family to pick peaches. May the tradition live on year after year!

Happy Birthday America!
This morning we went to Monticello to attend the "Wreath Laying Ceremony" at the grave of Thomas Jefferson. It was such a wonderful ceremony and I am so honored to have been able to go. My friend Heather is a member of the Daughters of the Revolution and invited us to come along. I loved it! I could not think of a better way to honor our country than to be at the graveside of one of our Founding Fathers.

Crozet 4th of July
The little town we live in just right outside of Charlottesville, always puts on a wonderful street parade to celebrate the 4th of July. The festivities begin with a parade of local fire engines and businesses, swim teams, scouts, and beauty pageant winners throwing out candy to the cheering crowd. It ends in Claudius Crozet Park with lots of fun activities and a fireworks show, of course! This year's parade was a scorcher but still so much fun to watch!

Happy 11th Birthday Sophie!
Our sweet Sophie Rose turned 11 years old on June 27th. We celebrated at home with family and neighborhood friends having a dinner of baked potatoes and a bowling themed cake. On Sunday, Sophie had a bowling party with her friends. We all had a wonderful time "striking" up some fun for Sophie's special day.
